Pulse is an app for mobile devices to access Falcon Online. This app can help students and instructors stay connected on-the-go with access to upcoming dates, course content, and a variety of notifications.
Setting dates for activities within the course will display in the Upcoming tab. This can help a student visualize their upcoming workload across multiple courses so they can plan accordingly. Please note there are specific dates that must be established depending on the activity so please review the Dates section below.
Students can access the course shells they are currently enrolled in from the Courses tab. They can review content and launch the full course in their device browser for more.
Students will receive notifications for any updates to the following areas of their enrolled courses:
These notifications are enabled by default and cannot be adjusted.
Setting dates in Falcon Online is a helpful way to keep students on track via Pulse. Dates will display in the Upcoming tab of the Pulse app. There are several tools within Falcon Online that support this feature:
The video tutorials below will guide you through the process of setting these dates within your course shell.
A Due or End Date must be set for the assignment dates to appear in Pulse, though it is important to note the assignment is still available for submissions until an established End Date is set. Students receive a notification two days before either of these dates.
Setting up events directly within the calendar can be useful for activities or events outside the online course shell, such as hybrid face-to-face events or office hours.
An End Date must be set for the content dates to appear in Pulse, though it is important to note the content will no longer be available to students for review as of the End Date.
An End Date must be set for the discussion dates to appear in Pulse, though it is important to note the discussion will no longer be available to students for review as of the End Date. (Note: Unlike other notifications in Brightspace Pulse, discussion notifications do not appear in the device's notification area and do not invoke an alarm or vibration.)
A Due or End Date must be set for the quiz dates to appear in Pulse, though it is important to note the assignment is still available for submissions until an established End Date is set. Students receive a notification two days before either of these dates.
