The purpose of the Professor Emeritus/Emerita title is to recognize retired faculty for meritorious service to students and the College. This award is reserved for retired faculty who have had distinguished careers and made significant contributions to Daytona State College. Achieving the status of Professor Emeritus is to be viewed as the highest honor that the College may bestow upon a faculty member.

Another great perk of Emeritus status is Daytona State College account access, which gives Emeritus Faculty access to their email address, Microsoft Office O365, on campus computer labs and the DSC Library. In order to access this account Emeritus Faculty have two options:
Option #1: Swing by the FalconAID Kiosk in building 300/109 and be verified by photo ID
Option #2: Call the Helpdesk at 386-506-3950 and go through a verification process over the phone
The verification should be a one time event since faculty will be able to get enrolled in the password self-service during their initial login.
