Using PaperCut in the ASC

Papercut is used for all printing, copying, and scanning at Daytona State College. Printing and photocopying black and white pages costs 10¢ per image while color pages cost 20¢. Scanning is free.

Adding money to your PaperCut account online:

  • In order to print at DSC, students must first activate their PaperCut account and add some money.  
  • First, click on the PaperCut icon located on the desktop of any ASC computer.
  • Type in your Username (full college email address or student ID number).
  • Type in your Password (your Falcon Online password). Your account summary will appear.
  • Click on Add Credit on the left menu (have your credit card information ready).
  • From the drop-down list in the Amount to Add field, select the amount you wish add to your account and click the Add Value button.
  • You will be taken to the OnlineStore, where you will confirm the amount and click Continue.
  • Fill in your credit card information and click BUY to complete the transaction.
  • Confirm the appropriate amount was added to your balance.

Adding cash to your PaperCut account:

  • Open your papercut account and make sure you can access it before going to Student Accounts office.
  • Once account is verified, go to the Student Accounts office with your cash, there a desk clerk will add money to your account.  On the Daytona campus, the Student Accounts office is located in building 100, room 102.
  • A minimum of $2 is required to start your account.

Sending a file to print from a DSC computer:

  • Click Print as you normally would. 
  • Make sure Ricoh-Follow-Me-Print on Papercut.is the selected printer. 
  • NOTE: Default printing is double sided, black and white printing; adjust these settings if needed.
  • Documents can be retrieved from any MFD printer on any DSC campus by using your network credentials. Your account will not be charged until you retrieve your print job.

Sending a file to print from a personal device:

  • NOTE:
    • Only certain file formats can be sent when printing from a personal device. PDF, BMP, DIB, GIF, JFIF, JIF, JPE, JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIF, and TIFF.
    • Any Word document or PowerPoint file needs to be saved as a PDF first.
    • There is no color printing option from personal devices.
  • First, make sure you are on DSC_Wireless and logged in with your DSC Username and Password.
  • Go to papercut.daytonastate.edu and log in using DSC Username and Password
  • Click Web Print on left menu. 
  • Click Submit a Job.
  • Select number of copies and click Upload Document.
  • Drag and drop or click Upload from computer to add files to be printed. 
  • Click Upload and Complete
  • Documents can be retrieved from any MFD printer on any DSC campus by using your network credentials. Your account will not be charged until you retrieve your print job.

Logging in to a Ricoh MFD Printer (to release prints and/or make copies):

Signing in with Student ID card tap:

  • Tap your student ID on the pad (should be located near the printer screen).
  • The first time you will need to enter your username and password to link your student ID card to you papercut account. After the initial set up all you have to do is tap the ID card to log in.
  • Select the jobs you want to print and press Ok or follow the steps below to make copies. 

Signing in with Username and Password:

  • Sign in on the printer using the Username and Password option.
  • Enter your Username (full college email address)
    • For some, your student ID number will suffice.
  • Then type in your Falcon Online password and press the login button.
  • Select the jobs you want to print and press Ok or follow the steps below to make copies.

Copying on a Ricoh MFD Printer:

  • Sign in on the printer by tapping student ID or using the Username and Password option (check printing section above for more detailed steps of these processes).
  • Press the Device Functions button, then Ok.
  • The copying options should appear. Choose your desired settings, put the pages to be copied face down on the glass aligned in the top left corner or face up in the auto feed tray. Then press the Start button.

Scanning

NOTE: there is no charge for scanning. 

Scanning to your DSC email:

  • Log into your papercut account on the printer.
  • Choose Scan on the right side of the screen, then choose Scan to my Email.
  • Place what you are scanning on the printer.
    • If using the auto feeder, place pages face up in the feeder and press start. 
    • If using the plate glass, place your document face down aligned with the top right corner of the glass, press start (repeat for each page). Once you have scanned all your pages, press the "#" button to finish.

Scanning to any other email:

  • Press the small house shaped button toward the bottom of the screen. After a moment, it will bring up several choices; press Classic Scanner.
  • Press the Manual Entry button. Enter your email address on the next screen, then press OK.
  • Place what you are scanning on the printer.
    • If using the auto feeder, place pages face up in the feeder and press start. 
    • If using the plate glass, place your document face down aligned with the top right corner of the glass, press start (repeat for each page). Once you have scanned all your pages, press the "#" button to finish.

Scanning to a flashdrive:

  • Press the small house shaped button toward the bottom of the screen. After a moment, it will bring up several choices; press Classic Scanner.
  • Insert flashdrive, select Store to File at top of the screen, select Store to Memory Device, and finally  press OK.
  • Place what you are scanning on the printer.
    • If using the auto feeder, place pages face up in the feeder and press start. 
    • If using the plate glass, place your document face down aligned with the top right corner of the glass, press start (repeat for each page). Once you have scanned all your pages, press the "#" button to finish.
