Important Dates & Deadlines
Success in college is all about staying organized and proactive, and the first step is knowing your important dates. By reviewing the Academic Calendar, you can plan ahead for key milestones like class start and end dates, add/drop deadlines, and when you can register for future semesters. Don’t forget to check for campus closures and other dates specific to your journey, such as Advising Week. Staying on top of these dates ensures you're always prepared, confident, and ready to make the most of every opportunity.
Academic Calendar
The Academic Calendar is your go-to resource for important dates throughout your college journey. We’ve made it easy for you to access, so you can stay organized and ahead of the game. Below, we’ll highlight some of the critical dates you’ll want to keep in mind to help you navigate your path to success.
Stay on Top of Key Dates for Your Success!
- Advanced Registration: This is your chance to enroll in classes for future semesters, often available months in advance. The earlier you register, the more options you'll have for instructors, times, and flexibility in building your schedule around your life. Take advantage of this opportunity to plan ahead and set yourself up for success!
- Classes Begin: This is the first official day of class, whether you’re in a face-to-face or online course. Even if your in-person class starts later in the week, you’ll gain access to your course materials on Falcon Online and can get a head start on reviewing content before you meet in person.
- Pro Tip: There are multiple terms within each semester—Full Term, A Term, and B Term. The term your class falls into can affect your dates and deadlines, so be sure to check carefully!
- Add/Drop: This is your chance to make changes to your schedule without penalty. You can adjust your classes up until this deadline, giving you the flexibility to find the best fit. After this deadline, your schedule is set and you must pay for the course, so make any changes before this deadline.
- Withdraw Deadline: This is the final day you can withdraw from a course and receive a 'W' grade (Withdraw). Although you’ll still be required to pay for the course, withdrawing might be the best option if circumstances change. It’s always a good idea to speak with your instructor, Academic Advising, and Financial Aid to understand the impact. After this deadline, you’ll receive a final grade in the course and won’t be able to withdraw.
- Classes End: This is when your classes officially wrap up. Keep in mind that the end date might vary depending on whether you’re in a Full Term, A Term, or B Term course, so make sure to stay on top of the specifics!
