YouTube Best Practices
Guidelines put in place by YouTube.com will be upheld by DSC Academic Support Services YouTube accounts (http://www.youtube.com/t/terms).
- Staff taking video or audio of Academic Support Services students will obtain signatures on the “DSC Talent Release” form.
- Use closed captioning/transcripts for all educational video content to meet ADA compliance. For more information about ADA, visit the http://adata.org/communication site.
- When creating video tutorials, consider your diverse range of audiences (e.g. Mac vs. PC users, software upgrades).
- Monitor comments left by YouTube users; delete inappropriate comments that include profanity.
- When embedding video in a DSC library site, use the Bootstrap responsive embed code.
