How do I access Microsoft's Copilot?

As a DSC employee, navigate to Microsoft's Copilot webpage (copilot.microsoft.com) and use your DSC login credentials to authenticate.

How do I know I'm using the "right" Microsoft Copilot with commercial data protection?

For maximum data protection, make sure you can see your email address (name@OaytonaState.edu) when you are using Copilot.

What types of data can I input into Copilot?

As in most situations, you should be cautious when inputting data into systems external to the College. Do not use any restricted data such as personally identifying data, financial data, student education records (FERPA), health data (HI PAA), and any other protected data. If you are unsure, please contact the IT Help Desk for additional guidance.

GenAI can help us to brainstorm new ideas, create or enhance digital content, discover trends, and summarize information.

Are there limits to how much I can use Microsoft Copilot?

Copilot currently has a limit of 30 prompts/questions with each thread.

Can I trust the Answers generated when using AI?

GenAI is a newer tool that still has many flaws. The content that generative AI creates can be incomplete, inaccurate, fabricated, misleading, biased, or could contain copyrighted materials. Always review any content generated by AI before you distribute, publish, or use it to make institutional decisions and verify whether the contents aligns with DSC's values and mission. 

You are responsible for any content that you produce or publish using GenAI

This includes assessing potential risks to people or the institution and being able to explain or justify materials or data produced by GenAI. Output and content created by GenAI should be verified for accuracy.
