Who can use Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan is available to currently attending Daytona State students, full-time faculty, currently teaching adjunct faculty, and Daytona State staff. Interlibrary Loan is not available to community patrons. UCF students, faculty, and staff should use UCF's Interlibrary Loan process. For details, check the UCF Library Website.

What should I do first?

The first thing you should do is to make sure the material you need, or something equivalent, is not available at the Daytona State Libraries. You should search for your title or by your subject in the Daytona State Online Catalog (See the Find a Book or E-book link on the left hand menu). When you are in the catalog, you can also check to see if the title is available from another college by selecting "Statewide Catalog" on the search screen. If the book is available from another college, you can obtain it  by ordering it directly through the catalog by using the "UBorrow Request" option.

How long will it take?

It generally takes 1-2 weeks from the date of your request to receive materials ordered from other State Colleges or Universities directly through the catalog.

What does it cost?

Some libraries impose a charge for items loaned via interlibrary loan and you may be asked to pay this charge. If there is a charge, we will notify you via e-mail before we process the order. Note: You will be charged overdue fines for materials returned late. For lost or damaged materials you will be charged the amount the lending library determines plus a processing fee. Any unpaid fines or fees may result in holds on transcripts and graduation.

How long may I keep the material?

The length of time you may have the borrowed material and any restrictions on use of the material are determined by the lending library.  Interlibrary Loan materials may be renewed but this is up to the lending library. Please contact us to request a renewal before the due date. These items are subject to recall at any time.

Please return your borrowed materials to the Daytona or DeLand Library Circulation desks. This will ensure that the item is checked in correctly.

Regional Campus Book Delivery

Requesting Library Material

You can request circulating library materials be delivered to your home campus (ATC, Deltona, Flagler/Palm Coast, New Smyrna Beach) from the Daytona or Deland Libraries by using the “Request” feature which is built into the Online Catalog.

  • Make sure you are logged in. Use the Login button in the upper right hand corner of the catalog page. When you locate an available book in the catalog which you would like to order, Click on the Request Item link under the record. This will open the Request Box.
  • Click the arrow next to Select Pickup Location and you will see a dropdown menu of all Daytona State campuses. Click on your campus you will pick up the book. Also, select the date you want to pick your book.

  • Keep in mind that if you are picking up at another campus other than Daytona Beach or DeLand you have to pick your book at the Academic Support Center.
  • You will see a message that says Action Succeeded.

You may cancel a request by clicking on your Account in the upper right hand corner of the catalog page. It will take approximately 3 to 4 days for your item to be delivered.

Picking Up Materials

You will pick it up at the Academic Support Center at your campus (you may also return it there). If you have any questions about this process or the status of an order, please call the Circulation Desk at (386) 506-3055. Please do not ask the Academic Support Center staff about your order since they are only a pick-up and drop-off point for these materials.
