The purpose of this organization is to provide an opportunity for Daytona State College students, staff, and faculty to participate in the improvement of the environment around campus and in our community as well as the world in general, and thereby realize that solutions to world problems can be achieved through individual and small group involvement.
Daytona State has always tried to reduce, re-use, and recycle wherever possible. We have many recycling initiatives on campus already which we plan to grow and develop over time. Some of the items we currently recycle include:
Aluminum cans | Light bulbs/Batteries |
Batteries | Medical/sharps |
Cardboard, paper, styrofoam | Paint, mineral spirits, oil, lubes, sprays |
Cell phones | PC monitors, CPU's |
Cleaning chemicals and dispensers | Plastic Bottles - Watch this eye opening |
Concrete | Electronics |
Freon | Ink/toner cartridges |
Leaves, branches, ground debris | Scrap metal and aluminum |
Tires from golf carts, college cars and maintenance trucks | Waste chemicals from academic labs |
