Fall Planning 2024 - Distance Learning Track

Welcome back! We hope everyone has a wonderful summer break. Fall planning begins next Monday, August 19-23, 2024, with a whopping 52 sessions to choose from! Here is the full Fall 2024 Planning Schedule. We look forward to seeing you all in person and via Teams soon!


Monday, August 19

9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Kelly Duffy pinning 2023

President's Welcome Back, Dr. Thomas LoBasso, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Cate Denial.

Audience: All faculty and staff (college-wide)

Notes: Please join Dr. LoBasso and members of the Senior Executive Team as we kick off the Fall 2024 semester. Dr. Catherine (Cate) Denial will speak to our DSC community about her new book, "A Pedagogy of Kindness," which argues that higher education needs to get aggressively and determinedly kind. This welcome back includes an in-person pinning ceremony for ACUE national teaching certification recipients.

Audience: Required for faculty teaching hybrid and online courses

Notes: This meeting is mandatory for all faculty teaching hybrid and online courses. Please join us to learn about updates, resources, and best practices for digital learning at DSC.

Faculty Innovation Center Open House, Division of Online Studies

Audience: All faculty and staff (college-wide)

Notes: Mix and mingle in the Faculty Innovation Center! Refreshments of breakfast items, fruit, coffee, tea, and citrus-infused water will be served. Get help with your Falcon Online course shells and visit with peer faculty members.

eMentors Meeting & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Discussion, Dr. Cheryl Kohen, Bill Harrison, Erin Arthur, & Richard Vollaro

Audience: Members of the eMentor Committee and open to the Daytona State College community

Enroll in an ACUE Cohort

You may learn about each of the different courses in our upcoming September and October cohorts, and enroll yourself using the Daytona State College ACUE portal. All full-time and part-time faculty will be eligible, but there is a limit to the number of participants. You can (and are encouraged to) sign up for more than one course. To enroll in any of the September 2024 offerings, faculty must register by Monday, August 26, 2024.
