After almost four years with the Division of Online Studies, I'm leaving Daytona State College and moving on to another adventure in my career. While I'm excited about this next chapter, parting is bittersweet as DSC has had a tremendous impact on me both professionally and personally, and it will be difficult to say goodbye.

To those who I've been fortunate enough to cross paths with, thank you for brightening my day with your passion for both teaching and learning. You made me look forward to coming to work every day. Not many people can say that.

To my Online Studies family, I think Leslie Knope put it best when she said, "Go find your team. Get to work. Whatever that work is that you find worth doing. Do it, and find some people to love who'll do it with you." Cheryl, Aaron, Jasmine, and Christopher - it's been a pleasure being your teammate. You made my work worth doing.

My last day is Thursday, July 22nd, but here is my LinkedIn page for anyone wishing to keep in touch - https://www.linkedin.com/in/pam-ortiz/

The Falcon Online Fall 2021 course shells and enrollments have begun in Falcon Online, students can see their courses, but cannot access the course until the first day of the semester. All students can access their Falcon Online home page Announcements, Office 365 widget, and 24/7 Falcon Online technical support.

Falcon Online shells are generated 45 days prior to the start of the following semester. Instructors are also enrolled during this period into their specific course shells. If a course shell is not visible, the department has not released it in the schedule for open enrollment, or it may be a limited access course. Student enrollments begin 30 days prior to the start of the semester, students can see their courses, but cannot access the course until the first day of the semester start date.

The Falcon Online enrollments are updated daily at 7:30am, 2:30pm, 9:30pm, and 2:30am.  As always, if you have questions, feel free to contact the Faculty Innovation Center at 386-506-3485 or FIC@daytonastate.edu. Thanks!

Welcome to the New FIC!

The Division of Online Studies is excited to announce our move to the newly renovated space for the Faculty Innovation Center (FIC) on the second floor of Building 200. The location may not be new to many of you; however, renovations have been done to expand the space making it more conducive for both independent and collaborative teaching and learning. Cheryl, Aaron, Jasmine, Christopher, and Pam are excited for you to explore the new and improved FIC as well as reacquaint yourself with the department's services.

Open House & Tour

A formal welcome reception will occur during Fall Planning; however, we encourage you to explore the space ahead of time. Feel free to explore our virtual 360 tour (pardon our Falcon dust!) by clicking the arrows and dragging around to move to about the space. (Thank you, Jasmine, for putting together this virtual tour using H5P! If you're interested in using this tool, please fill out the H5P Request Form.)
