The Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) is the professional association for Florida's 28 public community colleges, their boards, employees, retirees, and associates. AFC is the only organization in Florida that belongs to and supports us as community college employees. Its purpose is to help the Florida Legislature understand the community college's role in higher education and to advocate for strong and viable community colleges in Florida.

Today, all 28 of the state's community colleges support the work of the association through institutional dues, as do more than 9,000 individual community college employees and retirees through individual memberships and the sharing of their talents, time, and energy. Daytona State College currently boasts more than 360 members in the Daytona State AFC Chapter. Become a member and help to support our college and its mission!

Award for Excellence in Online & Hybrid Instruction certificate

The Division of Online Studies has the pleasure of giving out not one, but two awards this year for excellence in both the online and hybrid modalities! Both awards will recognize an outstanding Daytona State College instructor who has utilized a well-designed course shell, capitalizing on the modality the course is taught within. This course should provide engaging and creative course materials for their learners and serve as a model of instructional excellence in either the hybrid or online modalities.

If you'd like to fill out the application for either the Award for Excellence in Online Instruction or the Award for Excellence in Hybrid Instruction, please visit our Faculty Resources page to find both linked applications. Both nomination applications will be accepted through Monday, November 23rd

We're so grateful to our faculty and the amazing work they've accomplished this year despite many obstacles. Thank you for your service to our students, each other, and our college. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to me.
