Honorlock webinar training

Honorlock Webinar - Understanding Honorlock Proctoring and Analyzing Student Results

In preparation for finals, Honorlock is hosting a training webinar for faculty: Understanding Honorlock Proctoring and Analyzing Student Results.

Join Nick Carlson, Honorlock Customer Success Manager, to achieve a better understanding of Honorlock’s Automated and Live Pop-in proctoring, as well as how to best analyze your students' session recordings. During this session, you’ll learn exactly how Honorlock’s automated proctoring works and what scenarios may lead to intervention by one of their proctors. You'll also be taking an in-depth look at how to best analyze student recordings. This will better prepare you to make your own determinations as to what may constitute academic dishonesty in a remote proctoring setting.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify what Honorlock’s Automated Proctoring considers worthy of review, which may result in a flag or live proctor intervention.
  • Review the live pop-in process in realtime to develop a better understanding of how Honorlock proctors interact with students.
  • Analyze student session recordings including flags/violations in order to better interpret proctoring results.
  • Understand critical “do’s and don’ts” to ensure you and your students have a smooth exam experience.

To register for this webinar, please select the date and time that works best for you. If you're unable to attend but would like a recording emailed to you, please register for either day and a recording will be sent to you within 24 hours after the webinar has ended.

Register - Tuesday, November 17th at 11am EST Register - Tuesday, December 1st at 1pm EST

Additionally, in order to help Honorlock best serve you and your students during peak exam times, you may complete a short survey to provide insight into your upcoming assessments. The survey will take less than five minutes, but will inform Honorlock when they need to enhance support and proctoring coverage to ensure that you receive exemplary support, even in the busiest of times.

Complete Survey

Lastly, you may want to bookmark the Upcoming Honorlock Webinars page to keep track of future webinars. And as always, you can review the Virtual Proctoring InfoGuide for additional assistance.

Have you ever found yourself wanting to create a student email list from the Falcon Online Classlist for use in Microsoft Teams or Outlook? The video below will guide you through the process to do just that. Now you can use Outlook to schedule a single Teams meeting for virtual office hours or synchronous lectures across multiple course sections. This will allow you to invite students directly from Outlook, so they will receive meeting reminders and have the event sync to their Outlook calendars.

For more information regarding using Teams in your courses, check out the Let's Keep Teaching InfoGuide for Microsoft Teams and the IT Faculty and Staff Self-Service Help page. For additional questions or one-on-one help, please contact us in the Faculty Innovation Center. You can book a face-to-face or virtual appointment. Contact us via email at fic@daytonastate.edu or call 386.506.3485. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Student Engagement & H5P

Although I am naturally one to embrace new technology, it feels like 2020 has nearly stretched my capacity for all things “new.” However, after being introduced to H5P this summer, I have embraced this technology as my favorite part of a year full of the unprecedented. One of the greatest challenges I faced in switching to online teaching has been ensuring my students stay engaged in material that is equal in rigor to what I would present face to face. H5P has been a primary contributing solution to this challenge. Even when I transition back to a hybrid model, I will still use H5P to create interactivity in the course shell for my students.

Top Three Reasons Why I Use H5P

I’m using H5P in three main ways. One way is that I can embed questions into videos in my course shell as quizzes that automatically go to the grade book. Have you found a great YouTube video and want to make sure your students watch it and understand the concepts? H5P is the answer! I’m also creating interactive presentations to ensure that students read through material I’d normally share in a PowerPoint. I don’t want to just upload slide shows and hope they watch them. H5P provides a motivational mechanism to get students looking at each slide. Finally, I’m embedding questions in my module text to check for student understanding and increase their engagement with the course material. H5P is a game-changer for my instruction! It’s enabling me to provide rigorous, engaging material to my students and I’ve only scratched the surface. Even when our situation returns to the preferred method of face to face instruction, I’ll still be using H5P to supplement and support my instruction.
