I have over ten years of academic experience in different higher education institutions: the University of Pittsburgh, University of Central Florida (UCF), Seminole State College, and Valencia College. Over these past ten years, I've worked in an array of different areas such as research, information literacy instruction, instructional design, and training program development. During my tenure, I taught information literacy instructions face-to-face and online, co-taught semester-long courses, and have been embedded in LMS settings which helped me gain skills in designing various learning materials and program plans while working closely with departments, administration, faculty, students, and professionals.
I hold a master's degree in instructional design and technology (eLearning track) from UCF and a master's degree in library and information science (eLibrarianship) from the University of Pittsburgh. I completed my internship at the Center for Distributed Learning (CDL) at UCF and designed a video series for the State University System of Florida and a Canvas Course for UCF faculty and staff. I also worked for Valencia College in the Continuing Education Department as an instructional designer. I aspire to stay informed in the field by advancing my education by attending webinars, seminars, and conferences.
When not working, I enjoy doing activities with my family. I am a mother of three human boys and two cats, Nova and Mars. I believe in giving back to our communities via volunteering for nonprofit organizations. I volunteered to teach cooking classes for a non-profit and served food to the homeless.
I am a lover of the arts, particularly painting and illustrations, so I volunteered at the Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh. It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn about American artists. I have also done water marbling art (sprinkling color pigments and brushing on oily water and then transferring the pattern of colors to paper) in the past.
