Greetings colleagues, I wanted to share with you some of the work I am working on to create teaching resources for the online environment. I have received lots of suggestions and support from the Division of Online Studies team (Cheryl, Aaron, Bill and Pam) and the Instructional Resources Video Production team (April, Kevin, Tiffany and Erin). Go team!
We are redesigning my MAN4900 course to add more video content, instructional best practices, and collaboration tools to enhance critical thinking and engagement for my online students. Part of the process involves creating a design blueprint to link all the course and program learning outcomes to the student learning outcomes and the course topic modules. Just this process alone helps to build consistency and align the various elements to provide an integrated learning approach. We are also looking at utilizing more communication, collaboration and planning tools for our students, who work in teams and on service learning projects in the community. The process has been a great learning experience, so if you need help with your classes don’t hesitate to contact the team or me directly.
That’s all for now, see you online and be sure to look for another update later in the process, where I will share my experiences creating videos in the community and fireside chats with industry leaders.
Cheers, Lee
