It’s been a wonderful year working together, not only because of our shared love for Hamilton, but also because of our experience learning more about this career we love.

Our service as Teaching Fellows has been the ultimate group project. Our journey began by partnering with the Instructional Resources media production crew to create our Hamilton-inspired introduction video. Work! 🙂

We brainstormed ideas for our Snack and Share sessions and decided on Providing Useful Feedback and Using Groups to Ensure Active Learning. These topics coincided with the ACUE courses offered.

  • We were happy to have Dr. LaKisha Holmes join us on October 17th to share her experiences of providing useful feedback in her math classes. This session also included results from a student survey we conducted to gather their thoughts on feedback from peers and instructors.
  • On November 17th, we were joined by Claudia Fontaine and Dr. Cheryl Kohen. Claudia added her insight into how using groups in nursing classrooms ensures active learning, and Dr. Kohen shared her knowledge in facilitating group work with students enrolled in the Quanta-Honors College.

These conversations reminded us that all departments are part of a collaborative team, and we thrive off sharing perspectives with each other.

We contributed ideas, reached out to adjuncts by participating in the Adjunct Excellence Series, and supported and encouraged each other along the way. We appreciate everyone who attended our sessions (in person and online) and all the feedback and comments you provided. Raise a glass to Erin Arthur and Rachael Dougherty for their continued support.

Holiday Grading Party December 17, 2025 11 am to 1 pm

We invite you to join us for a grading party on December 17 at the CITL, The Room Where It Happens, from 11 - 1 PM. Stop by any time between those hours and stay for as long or as briefly as you'd like. There will be snacks, and you'll be in a supportive environment as we all work to input final grades. If you enjoy sharing holiday treats, you are welcome to bring one.
