Discovering the Power of H5P
My obsession with H5P started with the Smart Import Tool. It was supposed to be an easy tool. My thought process was that they were not going to give me access to anything that could break the system! I put together a couple of Interactive Books, which took about 30 minutes. The books have received incredible student feedback, and test questions related to that content have increased.
Taking It Further: The Escape Room
My curiosity and the positive student feedback led me to attempt an escape room. The process was simple:
- Pick a YouTube video about the content.
- Then, using the H5P Smart Import Tool, create various assignments.
- Then edit the feedback section of each assignment to include directions for the next part of the escape room.
🔐 As you add the assignments to D2L, set release conditions so they are only released when the previous assignment is complete. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is! It took a little time, but it was worth it as the students had so much fun learning the content.
