Can You Spot a Fake?

fake $100Can you spot a fake 20 dollar bill?  Here's a tip, hold it up to the light and look for the president's portrait as a watermark.  Unfortunately, spotting fake news and other types of misinformation isn't always so easy.  There's no watermark that says "True!".  So how do you know if that Facebook post about the 15 Taco-a-day Diet is legitimate?  A great place to start is our new InfoGuide, Finding Reliable Information.  This guide provides tools, such as the C.R.A.A.P. Test, that help you evaluate information and decide if it is reliable.  And don't forget your friendly librarians are always there to help you figure out what's legit and what's not.  It's what we do!
